The People

Meet the Creators

Kaula Luau is produced by the Hawaiian Council, a Native Hawaiian–led organization dedicated to advancing culture, community, and opportunity through authentic storytelling.

Creative direction is led by Kipe Ebana, Director of Entertainment for the Hawaiian Council, whose career spans decades of landmark Hawaiian cultural productions.

Kipe is the producer of Kaula Luau, bringing over four decades of experience in Hawaiian and Polynesian performance, choreography, and show production. With leadership roles spanning Old Lahaina Luau, Ulalena, Paradise Cove, and Kilohana Hula Show, he’s known for raising the bar while keeping every creative choice rooted in cultural integrity. Kipe’s vision for Kaula centers on connection—to ohana, kupuna, and aina—while fostering a cast culture built on passion, growth, and excellence.

The story of Kaula is written by Moses Goods, with Pacific choreography, musical contributions by Tiana Nonosina Liufau and Kayla Faʻamaligi. Cultural guidance is provided by Mehana Hind, ensuring Hawaiian values and protocol remain central to the experience.

Cultural Integrity & Native Hawaiian Leadership

Kaula Luau is intentionally created and led by Native Hawaiians, ensuring that the stories shared are not only beautiful, but truthful and responsibly stewarded. From script development to choreography, music, design, and performance, cultural practitioners are embedded throughout every layer of the production.

Hawaiian values, worldview, and sense of place guide both creative decisions and visitor experience, reinforcing that culture is not a backdrop—it is the foundation.

As a production of the Hawaiian Council, Kaula also advances a broader social mission, with proceeds supporting housing, education, workforce development, and cultural perpetuation across Hawaii.

In this way, Kaula Luau is not only a performance, but a living expression of continuity—where storytelling becomes a pathway to community impact and cultural future.

Technical production is delivered in partnership with Hawaiʻi Stage, Hawaii’s largest full-service event production company, supporting both world-class execution and local workforce development.
